Two times the distance, two times the duration, two times the countries!
James is doing it again!
This summer, James will complete a bike ride from Whitby to Coney Island starting on August 18th. We'll be covering about 100 km per day, covering 1000 km in total. FROG bikes and ARKEL bags have come together to outfit James with gear for the trip, and we once again have support from our friends in Scouting and Guiding. We are happy to do this in support of Grandview Kids.
Maybe you remember last year when James took Ontario by surprise and rode his bike to Ottawa? Remember how thrilled everyone was at the outpouring of support for this child with autism and the way so many people helped Grandview Kids through him? Well we do - and James does. Since that ride James' confidence has grown tremendously. His performance in school has improved, and his future is looking brighter. And we thank you for that.
But since then, things at Grandview Kids have grown no less urgent. The demand for the programs and services Grandview Kids provides now exceeds 10,000 children and youth annually, including the more than 3,000 kids on the growing waitlist. Built in 1983, the facility was designed to serve only 400 children annually, and with more families moving into Durham Region every year a larger centre is urgently needed. Loads of kids like James - including James - are hoping that they can get therapies they need to help them grow and improve.
So James is riding again. This time his goal is to ride his bike to a roller coaster. And he's hungry for hotdogs. Look out Coney Island!
By making a donation to James, you are helping the many kids with special needs across Durham Region receive services from Grandview Kids. You are helping make a difference!
Please make a donation today and help James to reach his fundraising goal!
